New discovery: Swee Choon Tim Sum

D and I accompanied M who had an endoscopy at Raffles last Saturday.  It was almost 2pm when M's procedure was finished.  We were starving.  M wanted to have some dimsum so we consulted Google and were directed to this place in Jalan Besar.

We walked for about 30 mins.   We saw the place from our afar and our hearts sank because it was already closing.  We checked online and indeed, it says that it closes at 230pm before it opens again from 6pm to 6am.  Sad isnt it?

It's a good thing that we were curious. We still went to see the place and discovered that the restaurant basically covers the entire block!  We checked the second door and upon seeing that there were still a group of people eating, we went in and tried our luck.  And lucky we were indeed!  Last order was at 230pm, we got there at 227pm.

We ordered several dishes.  Everything was good but my favorite was the salted egg yolk bun.  It's heavenly!  The dough was soft and moist but not soggy and the egg yolk filling was just right.  The hakaw and chives dumpling were also good!  Again, everything was good.

After eating, we walked and in a couple of steps, realized that they had a bakery for people who want to take some of the goodies home!  It was indeed a series of fortunate events :)
